Swimmers qualify for All-Ireland Championship - 29 January 2010
Well done to the Athlone Community College Swim team who traveled to Leisureland in Galway to complete in this years Connacht Schools Swimming Championships. In total 15 Medals were won by the 13 members and as a result the team have now progressed to the All-Ireland Schools Swimming Championships which shall take place in Cork on Sat Feb 13th.
Particular tribute must be paid to the parents of the Swimmers for all their dedication and support and especially to their coaches in the Athlone Swim club for all their dedication and commitment. Without this backing and support this level of success that these students have achieved would not be possible. Well done to all concerned.
We would like to with those who qualified to compete at the All-Ireland Championships in Cork the very best of luck. Let’s hope we shall be reading of more All-Ireland medal successes heading back to Athlone from this highly talented squad of swimmers.
