Fashion Show - 08th December 2009
Together with the students and staff of Athlone Community College Ms.
Geraldine Kenny of Carraig Donn organised an outstanding Fashion Show
in the Sheraton Hotel on the 25th of November. There may be floods and
recession but the colourful extravaganza ousted the blues of doom and
gloom for at least one night.
It was truly a local event with the best from Carraig Donn, Swamp, Keenan Sports, Cochranes Menswear Moate, Design it and the Joke Shop. Even the models were home grown. Who needs Naomi Campbell or Kate Moss when you have a bevy of Transition year and 6th year beauties from the Athlone Community College, even the teaching staff abandoned the homework for one night and took to the catwalk instead.
Proceeds from the show were allocated to the Transition year fund at Athlone Community College. Mrs. Eileen Donohoe, Acting Principal, commended Ms. Geraldine Kenny and all involved on their work and urged people to shop local this Christmas.
