Victories Galore for Athlone Community College Hockey team
Athlone Community College girls first year hockey team had a victorious win over Urslines, Galway. The score ended in a 1-0 victory to Athlone Community College. The match took place in Athlone Regional Sports Centre on Tuesday the 29th January. Rose-Mary Moran the Athlone Community College hockey coach was very supportive throughout the game. The umpires found it difficult to pick a player of the match, however, Catherine Galvin clearly stood out throughout the game. Terri O' Sullivan was a tremendous goal keeper as she saved all goals that came her way.
Once again Athlone Community College had a victorious win over Solerno, Galway on Tuesday 26th February. The score ended in a 1-0 victory to Athlone Community College. The goal was scored by Aine Muldoon who also won player of the match. Catherine Galvin the captain of the Athlone Community College also played a tremendous game & was the one who set up the goal by taking a free from the half way line.
