GAMES ROOM
Students may chose from a variety of Board Games. This is an excellent
way of making new friends and taking a break during the busy school day.
CINEMA CLUB
The computer room with its large screen is the perfect venue for a lunchtime
film. Many students choose this form of recreation as a perfect way to
unwind during the day.
LIBRARY
The library is open to students two days per week and stocks a comprehensive
range of books on all topics.
TRAD MUSIC
An open traditional music session for the beginners to advanced musicians.
COMPUTER CLUB
The computer club is an excellent facility whereby students may access
the Internet or seek help with completion of homework or assignments on
two evenings per week.
EVENING ART
This is an excellent opportunity to take art as an extra subject. Students
follow the Junior Certificate Course one evening per week.
EVENING STUDY
Supervised study for five evenings a week mainly benefits students from
second to Leaving Certificate but some first year students do avail of
the service.
COOL CAILÍNÍ
A girls club for 1st year girls to learn dance, organise events, discuss
social issues etc.
1st YEAR GIRLS BASKETBALL
First year girls participate in Ireland Schools "B". There are
also internal leagues for 1st and 2nd years.
GIRLS GAELIC FOOTBALL
Girls can compete in the Junior Ladies Football competition.
GIRLS SOCCER
Soccer is a favourite sport among girls in the College and many develop
a flair for the game during first year.
GIRLS HOCKEY
1st year girls can join the Junior team and train weekly. They play competitively
in the Connacht Championships.
BOYS GAELIC FOOTBALL
Boys compete in the Under 14 Leinster Colleges A. Internal Class Leagues
take place for 1st and 2nd years as they compete for the Kieran Hunt Perpetual
Cup. 1st years also take part in the BR. Hubert Cup.
SOCCER - BOYS
Soccer continues to be a popular sport for the boys. Internal leagues
are organised for 1st year students. Boys compete in U13 Leinster competitions.
EQUESTRIAN EVENTS
We have had very successful teams in the past. Parental involvement is
essential for this sport. Our current team are proving that they can follow
in the footsteps of their predecessors.
RUGBY
The Community College players are affiliated to the I.R.F.U. (Connacht
Schools). They play in a number of local blitzes through the year.
CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
Training takes place three days per week and students are prepared for
Regional and All Ireland Championships.
RECREATIONAL BADMINTON AND VOLLEYBALL
These sports take place each week purely for recreational benefits.
CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE
Each Year 1st Years present a joyful Christmas Carol Service.
TABLE TENNIS
Casual and competitive table tennis is held in the gym on a weekly basis
for junior and senior students.
