| Sorcha McManus | Bronwyn Reid-McDermott |
Well done to both Sorcha McManus and Bronwyn Reid McDermott who put in scintillating performances at the Soroptomist Public Speaking Competition for Girls – Midlands Final held at Summerhill College Athlone. Sorcha was the 1st of several speakers and much to the delight of her audience spoke on the topic - “It ain’t what you do it’s the way that you do it!”.
Displaying eloquence beyond her years Bronwyn entertained and informed her audience with her own unique take on the topic ‘What goes around comes around’. With Economic and Social development as her core theme Bronwyn with appropriate good humour proved that history does indeed repeat itself, and we humans, despite protests to the contrary never learn! Bronwyn was chosen as one of two students to go forward to the Regional Finals in Mullingar on February 6th. Well done on an excellent performance.
